Lateral position for hip surgery is at times difficult because there is no support available in the theatre which will reach the anterior superior iliac spine and the pubic symphysis in front to stabilise the patient. Therefore, many times we have to use sand bags and pillows for support which is not an ideal situation.
We have developed front supports which will support the anterior superior iliac spine and the pubic symphysis. This positioner can be used how so ever thin the patient maybe and even in children to give a lateral position.
